VISION: Divisional President is proactive, empowering and seeking a multi-dimensional Quality Leader who can partner well with customers, lead a talented team, be the captain on Lean, and a contributor on strategy and best practices. Looking for a hands-on leader with strong operational and/or engineering underpinning who can advise, consult and partner on new products, customers, and capital equipment as well as identify solutions for quality challenges.
OPPORTUNITY: Key OEM supplier and Fortune 500 division. Average annual growth over last three years is over 10% and 2019 looks to be another record setting year. There are no big quality issues. However, this a vertical, multi-plant manufacturing operation with highly engineered and regulated products. As a key member of the executive team, set and collaborate on goals and deliverables to support short and long term objectives. Key elements are:
Quality Ambassador: Be the Voice of Quality for the company with both internal and external stakeholders. Communicate with global customers on quality and reliability of products. Be on the front end of new contracts on planning as well as timely updates on deliverables and expectancies. Participate on customer and 3rd party audits. Build strong relations with key vendors. Partner with Sales, Engineering, Supply Chain, and Manufacturing on opportunities to improve quality.
Quality Leadership: Lead by example. Be buffered by a strong supporting team that seeks direction and desiring to be at the top of their game. Promote continuous improvement. Be a mentor and coach where necessary.
Best Practices: The bar is high but can be higher. Develop goals and manage metrics & KPIs. Be on the front end of new product development, new capital equipment/technology, new manufacturing practices, key vendors, and order planning/management status.
REQUIREMENTS: BS in Engineering or related major; MBA or Six Sigma certification ideal. Seek 6+ years in a quality leadership role within aerospace, automotive, or medical products industry that is regulated and ISO certified. Must have a strong underpinning in best practices (e.g. continuous improvement, 5S, Lean manufacturing). Must be willing to travel 20-30% to meet with customers and have visibility at domestic and international plants. Local candidates only.
REWARD: $130,000 to $160,000 plus 15-20% bonus, excellent benefits, and long term incentivies.
