VISIONCenter stage role within an emerging healthcare products manufacturer that targets physicians, major retailers, and spas. Report to retiring R&D Director….ideal for someone with hands-on leadership skills, upside potential, and product ingenuity and development experience who is coming from a prescription or OTC FA-approved products setting (e.g. cosmetics, creams, emulsions, exfoliators, gels, lotions, lubricants, moisturizers, ointments or related products.

 

OPPORTUNITYPrimary responsibility is for new product development. Manage all lab resources. Apply FDA regulations applicable to OTC preparations. Develop a well-rounded knowledge of global compliance of ingredients used in cosmetic and OTC products.

 

Explore new and innovative ingredients to create and offer efficacious formulations to existing and new customers.   Manage all laboratory and product development lab related personnel. Review and manage lab calendar with complete information and priorities.

 

Assist Sales and Customer Service in organization and successful scheduling of all development projects.  Prepare and review required laboratory SOPs. Provide guidance on regulatory and patent considerations as development proceeds.

 

Develop plans and budgets for lab projects. Identify and acquire proper analytical equipment required for R&D development and formula testing. Manage documentation preparation relating to formulas and lab operations. Manage documentation requirements for sample submissions and product preparation for all testing requirements. Partner with Quality Assurance, Marketing, Sales and Customer Service to prepare and maintain technical aspects of marketing literature.

           

Develop new ingredient delivery systems. Develop and maintain relationships with key global raw material manufacturers. Attend and represent Company at global cosmeceutical meetings and conferences. Visit ingredient corporations as required to acquire new technologies. Oversee first production batches to ensure proper transition from lab to commercial.

 

REQUIREMENTS:   BA or BS required; MS or MBA a plu. Seek 5 years minimum in personal care products in a laboratory setting and 3 years minimum managing multiple laboratory personnel. Must have proven history of development of own formulation ideas, industry creativity, innovation, solutions for complex issues and leadership in a team environment.

 

REWARD:  $100,000 to $130,000 DOE plus bonus potential, benefits and upside potential
