New Communication Skills

Video chat proficiency is valuable skill to have in the current job market. As many companies are evolving into remote or partial on-site schedules for their employees, the ability to effectively communicate via video chat is paramount to value adding success in the role. During the pandemic, the majority of our interviewing and subsequent candidate hires were faciltated through video chat so the evaluatiion for this skill began during the interviewing process. The adaptation to the new way of communicating was established during the pandemic but in many organizations, it is a method that is here to stay. 

A new survey by reveals video chat proficiency is the most valued skill according to hiring managers who say the pandemic affected the skills they’re targeting.  They surveyed 1,250 hiring managers across multiple industries to identify the most valued remote-work skills and how organizations plan to attract and retain workers. 

Additional findings include:

  • Half of hiring managers say the pandemic has affected which skills they are seeking
  • Video chat proficiency and adaptability are the most valued skills
  • Organizations are expanding staff by 20%

2nd Quarter is coming to a close and B&B experienced higher productivity which is indictative of a robust job market. Opportunities abound and exciting plans for growth by our clients is driving the need for building talented teams. Success Stories!

Projects really came together in early June with a record of 5 placements in one week! Congratulations to Tami LaPlante who had 3 of the placements! She landed an Operations Support Supervisor,  as well as,  the Director of Operations  at a growing, privately held trucking company with multiple location and recognized as a nationwide leader in their industry. In addition, Tami also lplaced the Engineering Manager at a privately-held, multi-plant manufacturer of specialty products and capital equipment targeting multiple global channels including medical device, automotive and aerospace. Victoria Pallottto continued her consistent streak of timely project completions with the placement of a Staff Accountant at an expanding public accounting firm. Lastly, Ed Bradstreet placed a very talented candidate as the Vice President of Human Resources at a multi-site manufacturing and distribution business that has had sustained profitability and growth since 2000. This particular client has partnered with Ed for well over 20 years and their robust business yields a continued relationship to serve their talent aquisition needs!
